Connecting your Booking.com listing to a channel manager takes about 10 minutes. Once connected, your Booking.com calendar syncs with your Airbnb, Vrbo, and direct booking calendars — preventing double bookings across all channels.
What you'll need
- Access to your Booking.com Extranet
- A channel manager account (this guide uses BookBed as an example, but the process is similar for any tool)
- 10 minutes
Step-by-step: Export your Booking.com calendar
1. Log into the Extranet
Go to admin.booking.com and sign in. If you manage multiple properties, select the property you want to connect.
2. Find the calendar export
Navigate to Rates & Availability → Calendar. The exact location of the iCal export varies depending on your property type and Extranet version, but look for:
- "Sync calendars"
- "iCal export"
- "Export calendar"
- A link icon near the calendar view
3. Copy the iCal URL
Booking.com will provide a URL that looks something like:
https://admin.booking.com/hotel/hoteladmin/ical.html?t=...
Copy this entire URL. It's unique to your property — don't share it publicly.
Step-by-step: Import into your channel manager
4. Add Booking.com as a channel
In BookBed (or your channel manager):
- Go to Channel Connections or Channels
- Click Add Channel → Booking.com
- Paste the iCal URL you copied
- Map it to the correct property/unit
- Save
5. Create two-way sync
For full two-way sync, you also need to import your channel manager's feed INTO Booking.com:
- In your channel manager, find the iCal Export URL for this property
- In the Booking.com Extranet, go to Calendar → Import calendar (or "Sync calendars")
- Paste your channel manager's iCal export URL
- Save
Now changes flow both directions: Booking.com → Channel Manager → Airbnb, and vice versa.
Verify the connection
Critical step — don't skip this.
- Block tomorrow's date on Booking.com
- Wait for your channel manager's sync interval (60 seconds on BookBed)
- Check your channel manager's calendar — the date should show as blocked
- Check Airbnb — the same date should be blocked there too
- Unblock the date on Booking.com and verify it clears everywhere
If the sync doesn't work, see Troubleshooting below.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Feed URL returns an error | Expired or incorrect URL | Re-export from Booking.com Extranet |
| Dates not syncing | Two-way sync not configured | Ensure BOTH directions are set up |
| Sync is very slow | Platform-side caching | Wait 2–3 full cycles; Booking.com feeds can take 5+ minutes to update |
| Old bookings showing | iCal includes historical data | Your channel manager should filter past dates automatically |
For feed-level debugging, use our iCal Feed Checker to validate the Booking.com calendar feed.
Frequently asked questions
Does Booking.com support direct API connections with channel managers? Yes, through their Connectivity Partner program. But API access is only available to certified partners (Hostaway, Guesty, etc.), not to individual hosts. iCal sync is the standard method for most hosts and works reliably.
Will this prevent all double bookings with Booking.com? iCal sync with fast polling (60 seconds) prevents the vast majority of double bookings. The only remaining risk is if two guests book on different platforms within the same 60-second window — which is extremely rare.
Can I connect multiple Booking.com properties at once? Yes — repeat this process for each property. In BookBed, each property has its own channel connection settings.
