Why people leave

Four real reasons hosts churn from Lodgify

Annual contract with no real refund window

Lodgify auto-renews annually with a 14-day cooling-off period at sign-up; after that, cancellations are non-refundable and onboarding/payment fees stay deducted. Hosts who decide it's wrong for them at month 3 are stuck.

Channel sync drift on peak weekends

Repeated G2 / Capterra reports of Airbnb and Booking.com calendar lag causing double bookings, with slow technical-support escalation. Sync runs ~5–10 minutes between updates.

Mobile app reliability complaints

Native iOS app especially; G2 reviews call out crashes, slow reservation loading, and missing notifications. Web app is the reliable option.

Upsell pressure for basic reports

Several reviewers flag that simple reporting and integrations require Ultimate, not Pro — and the price gap between tiers feels punitive once you're scaling.

Five alternatives, ranked by fit

  1. 1

    BookBed

    That's us
Best for · Solo host, 1–3 units.

60-second iCal sync vs Lodgify's ~5–10 minute polling — fewer double bookings on peak weekends. Month-to-month billing. Lodgify is annual with a 14-day refund window; after that you're locked in even if you cancel.

  2. 2
Best for · EU-based hosts who want flat per-unit pricing and accounting handoff (DATEV, lexoffice).

If you don't need a website builder and your pain is per-property scaling, Smoobu's flat-fee model is friendlier at 5–15 units.

  3. 3
Best for · Airbnb-heavy hosts who prioritize message automation over website builder.

Best-in-class AI guest messaging with a transparent self-serve price ladder. Weaker direct-booking site than Lodgify.

  4. 4
Best for · Mobile-first solo hosts who want pay-per-booked-night billing.

FLEX plan ($1/booked night, $20/prop minimum) is genuinely fair if you have low season volatility. Website builder is basic.

  5. 5
Best for · Property managers 10+ units who need a real PMS and don't mind sales-led pricing.

Heavyweight PMS with 300+ integrations and an open API. Annual contract + ~$500 setup, but the toolset is in a different league.

How to leave Lodgify cleanly

One afternoon, no double bookings.

  1. 1.In Lodgify: Settings → Reservations → Export CSV. Pull your last 24 months of bookings.
  2. 2.Pause iCal links from Airbnb / Booking.com / Vrbo pointing at Lodgify (Channels → Disable sync).
  3. 3.In BookBed: Onboarding → Import → upload the Lodgify CSV. We auto-map their column names.
  4. 4.Re-point Airbnb / Booking.com / Vrbo iCal exports at the URLs BookBed gives you. ~5 minutes per channel.
  5. 5.If you used Lodgify's website builder, point your domain CNAME at widget.bookbed.io and embed the BookBed widget on your existing site (or migrate to a BookBed-hosted page).
  6. 6.Wait for your Lodgify annual renewal date or invoke the 14-day cooling-off window to cancel without forfeiting more than you have to.

This checklist works whether you land on BookBed or one of the four options above. The hardest part is always re-pointing iCal feeds — do that during a low-occupancy window.
